San Jose Metro Band Plays for the Adult Metro Education Graduation

On June 18th, the San Jose Metropolitan Band played for the commencement service of the Metropolitan Adult Education Program (MAEP).

The MAEP is a unit of the Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) and offers adult education classes for free or at a very low-cost. MAEP is one of the oldest and largest adult education programs in the state.

As you may have noticed, the similarity in names between the San Jose Metropolitan Band and the Metropolitan Education District is not a coincidence! Many years ago, the San Jose Metro Band was actually part
of the curriculum of the Adult Education Program and it has therefore become a welcomed tradition for the San Jose Metro Band to play at the commencement services.

It was a beautiful day and we were happy to be playing great music for the ceremony!
